Hanapepe Valley Lookout is easy to find roadside on the Kaumualii Highway in Kalaheo on the island of Kaua'i, see our map / directions page for exact location. The scenic lookout offers beautiful views of Hanapepe and beyond and is worth a stop if you're in the area. Don't forget the camera!
See those signs about not going beyond the guardrail? They're there for an obvious reason but in case you think you'd be okay ignoring them, know that in 1980 Douglas Kenney (co-writer of films like Caddyshack and National Lampoon's Animal House) fell 35 feet to his death at this very spot. So make sure you keep an eye on the keiki (kids) here with traffic on one side and big falls on the other.
