Kohua Ridge Trail is a 2.5 mile long (each way, 5 miles round trip) hiking trail located in the Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve, with amazing Waimea Canyon views, on the island of Kaua'i. Although the elevation change is only around 170 feet overall, this is still considered a difficult hike as getting here isn't the easiest and parts of the trail are narrow with long drop offs.

Getting to the Kohua Ridge Trail trailhead first requires a drive along the Mohihi-Camp 10 Road. This is an unpaved road that can be hiked or drive with a vehicle but only if that vehicle is true 4 wheel drive and only when the road is dry. The trailhead starts about two miles after the Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve entrance sign along the Mohihi-Camp 10 Road.

The trail is primarily intended as a hunter access route for those hunting pig and goats in the forest reserve but it's also a hiking trail with some incredible views of Waimea Canyon. This is a ridge trail with some very narrow paths that have very steep drop offs on both sides so it's not a beginner trail or for those with a fear of heights.

It's very important that you do not venture beyond the safety railing / signs that mark the end of the trail. Doing so will get very dangerous, very fast.
