The Waikamoi Nature Trail, or Waikamoi Ridge hike as it's also called, is a short 0.8 mile loop hike along Maui's famous Road To Hana. It's a short nature trail that only gains around 200 feet in elevation.
You'll work your way through a lush forest and a bamboo grove. At the top the trail will open up to a clearing with a picnic area.
The trail here tends to get pretty muddy so be prepared for that if you go. Otherwise, this is a simple trail for almost all skill levels. It's really more of a nature walk than a hike so it can be done without hiking shoes. Even so, be sure to read up on Hiking Safety & Essentials before you go.
It's easy to find off the Hana Highway, see our directions page for exact location, and there is a small parking area right off the road as well.
