The Mamane Trail is a 1.8 long (one way, 3.6 mile round trip) out and back style hiking and mountain biking trail. The upper trailhead starts at around 7,300 feet in elevation where it intersects the Skyline Trail.

The trail runs through Mamana trees and other native shrubs as it descends down almost 1,000 feet in elevation into the Kula Forest Reserve. Although this isn't an overly difficult trail to hike for most, the major elevation gains and higher altitudes make it a moderately difficult hike overall.

Since this is a mixed use trail with both hikers and bikers, we recommend that hikers be extra cautious and watch for bikers while bikers need to be extra cautious and watch for hikers.

Hunters may also be in this area so always stay on the trail and wear bright clothing. As with any hike, be sure to read Hiking Safety & Essentials before heading out.
