The Kawaikoi Stream Trail is located in Kokee State Park and features a 1.8 mile (each way) hike that many hikers would consider easy. With only a 40 foot elevation change, you won't have to worry about any stairmaster style climbs on this one.
The trail starts 3/4 of a mile after the Forest Reserve entrance sign, upstream from Sugi Grove, on the Mohihi-Camp 10 Road and is often considered one of the most scenic mountain stream side trails in Hawaii. Note that Mohihi-Camp 10 Road requires four wheel drive.
The first half of this hike follows the southern side of the stream and then the upper part of the hike makes a loop that will reconnect back with the first half. So it loops at the end but is also an out-and-back style trail as well.
As always, and even with so called "easy" hikes, be sure to read up on Hiking Safety & Essentials before you head out.
