The Lahaina Jodo Mission is a Japanese Buddhist temple and you'll really feel like you're in Japan when you enter.
They feature one of the largest Buddha statues outside of Asia and the mission is a replica of an authentic Japanese Buddhist Temple. The statue is 12 feet high and weighs around 3.5 tons. It was installed back in 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Japanese immigrants in Hawaii.
The grounds and buildings of this mission are open to the public at no charge but donations are accepted and appreciated.
