Parker Ranch, located in the city of Kamuela (locally known as Waimea), is a working cattle ranch with 130,000 acres of grazing land with around 17,000 head of cattle. If you've enjoyed a "Big Island Beef" steak or burger during your Hawaii vacation then it probably came from this ranch.

The ranch also offers hunting tours with big game species that include Spanish and Hawaiian Ibex goats, the Polynesian boar, and 13 species of upland game birds. They'll help you with hunting licenses, guns, equipment, taxidermy, and more.

On the historic side, Parker Ranch offers tours of their two historic home. The Puuopelu and Mana Hale homes are open for visitors to walk through and see historic heirlooms, works of art, and other everyday items.

The Puuopelu was purchased by John Parker II in 1879 and is a Hawaiian Victorian style manor house where the Parker family lived through sixth generation heir Richard Smart. The Mana Hale is a two-story house made from koa wood that was moved from its original location and placed next to the Puuopelu.

Self-guided tours are free and paid, guided tours are available as well. When you're all done at the ranch, be sure to stop in at the Parker Ranch Store.
