Beth Anderson's Take
Located next to Hawaii's largest working sugar factory (which has recently closed down for good) in the historic plantation town of Puunene, Maui, the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum is a repository of information and exhibits about Maui's culture and history. It's dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Maui's sugar industry.

Really neat to learn about the history of the islands in general and since sugar was such a big deal it's worth a stop.

As I understand sugar farming on Maui is coming to an end, I hope they do not also close this museum. This is a major period in Maui's history and we found the information on early sugar farming and production extremely interesting. This was a very reasonable priced tour and would hope this museum continues to prosper and educate visitors.
