Kalae'O'io Beach Park is a small single acre, sandy beach that has a grassy area and some picnic tables. There is a reef past the shoreline, so be careful with your feet.

It's not necessarily a place to spend the day, but it is a nice spot to stop if the Kamehameha traffic happens to be bad and you want to take a break.

A bridge that spans the main road has run off from Ka'a'awa stream passing under it. With that in mind, you may want to stay away from the rivermouth near the bridge after big rainfalls. Afterall, murky water is not something you want to swim in since it's likely not clean and sharks enjoy murky waters (see Shark Attacks In Hawaii).

The park is scattered with a few trees, which always makes these beach parks a bit nicer. The downside is that it next to the main road so there is a significant amount road noise.

Pet owners can rejoice that dogs are allowed on this beach, but the must be vaccinated and supervised and kept on leashes at all times.
