Waimanalo Bay Beach Park was discovered by the masses back in 2015 when the self-proclaimed Dr. Beach crowned it as the "Best Beach in America". While it's true that this beach is more crowded than it used to be, the good news is that it's a very large beach that can handle crowds without feeling crowded.

During the summer, Waimanalo Bay is relatively calm and perfect for families. However, during the winter months, the currents are much stronger. Always be mindful of the conditions and ask a lifeguard for updates on current conditions and the best places to swim.

Waimanalo Bay stands apart from other beaches in Hawaii because of it's amazing turquoise water. It looks like a postcard and few beaches in Hawaii have such a gorgeous shade of blue. It's one of those beaches you need to experience in person to truly appreciate, especially the powdery soft sand.

As if the blue waters weren't enough, the Kalalau mountains make a proud and majestic backdrop.

The beach itself is long and located south of Bellows Field Beach Park. The park is equipped with restrooms, ample parking, picnic benches and showers. Camping is allowed with a permit at the adjacent Waimanalo Bay State Recreation Area.
