Full Description
Kea'au Beach Park is a pretty decent place if you are looking to do some ocean front camping. It has picnic tables, quite a few camp sites (permit required), showers, and bathrooms. It also has a large grassy area and some shade near trees.

If you do camp here just note that you are going to hear some roosters which seem to live on the property across the street. What might seem charming at first could quickly turn into a major annoyance.

As a place to play in the sand, hit the beach, and swim in the ocean it's really not that great at all. The campsite area is grassy and very rocky near the ocean but on the far north end you will find a large sandy beach area.

Even over there it can be difficult to get into the ocean because of the rocky shelf at the shoreline so it's not really a great place for water play.

We do often see surfers out here as well, but that's really only for the better surfers. If you are a beginner this isn't what you want. You might also see some occasional homeless folks in this area.

A decent enough beach with some facilities, lovely views, and a nice place to camp. Not all that great for swimming though. Love that it's often unused or has just a few people. Might be worth checking out if you're driving by but not really a place I would drive far for.

Heaven on earth. Peaceful, quiet, and has a spiritual feeling for me. Away from the concrete jungle and rat race of Waikiki. Oahu's country. Yes, you hear roosters early morning. You can also see whales birthing in spring time. Sea turtles come ashore to bury eggs and monk seals sun bath here. To rocky for swimming or surfing. You want peace and quiet in paradise? You want country? Keaau Beach Park is my heaven on earth.
