El Mariachi - Restaurants On Oahu Aiea, Hawaii

I've eaten at another El Mariachi location with pleasant results and this one was just as good, though the meal I chose this time is my new favorite. But we'll get to that in just a minute.

First off, El Mariachi is classic Mexican style food. They offer all sorts of tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, tamales, and combination plates. The menu is large and if you like Mexican style cuisine then you'll certainly find plenty of things you'll enjoy.

This is a tale service restaurant but they don't serve alcohol here and instead have a bring your own bottle policy. For those in other states, this may be a new concept. But you can simply walk across the street to the liquor store and buy some beer (etc) and bring it right into the restaurant. It's actually kind of nice and a lot cheaper than if they sold the alcohol here!

The chips and salsa are complimentary, which isn't always the case in Hawaii, and very good. I really like their salsa. A lot. For my meal, I went with the Mariachi Tacos which are two corn tortillas stuffed with steak (or chicken if you prefer), cilantro, onions, and then topped off with sour cream and some really spicy salsa. A side of rice and beans comes with it.

All I can say is wow. These were excellent! The salsa was really spicy, and I love spicy, but the tacos were just really good overall. The rice was good too and the beans were pretty good too. If I was hungrier I may have wanted a third taco, that would be my only complaint. Overall a really good meal, one I'll be back for.
