Ramen-Ya is a chain of locally owned restaurants that serve a variety of ramen bowls, udon bowls, gyoza, chicken katsu, and other Japanese style meals.
This is a table service restaurant but the prices are almost on part with fast food but still high on quality. We arrived just after they're lunch time opening and they were already packing customers in so it's clearly a popular place. The restaurant is spotless inside, a model for cleanliness. The staff is very nice, friendly, and fast.
As for the food, it's tasty! I went with a bowl of Chicken Katsu Ramen for $8.25. It was a huge bowl that was packed with ramen and a large amount of Chicken Katsu on top. The chicken was very good and not funky at all. The ramen was also very good even if the broth was a tiny bit on the bland side.
I couldn't finish it all but they'll happily box up your leftovers so you can take them home to enjoy another day. Normally when I want a bowl of broth and noodles I'm heading for some pho, but this was very good and an excellent value so I'll be back here for sure.
