The Tantalus-Arboretum Trail is a short, 0.25 mile long loop trail in the Honolulu area of O'ahu. The trailhead starts right on Tantalus Drive across from the 3300 Tantalus Drive address.

Park legally beyond the driveway for that address. Watch for traffic here as traffic won't be watching for you. We can't stress this enough, especially if you have kids with you.

The hike is more of a very short nature walk than a full on hiking trail with only very minor elevation gains. This makes it perfect for children and novice hikers.

It's sort of a "my first hike" experience so bring the kids. Of course, it is still a hike so be sure to treat it as such and read Hiking Safety & Essentials.

The arboretum that gives this trail its name was founded in 1901 to develop new crops for the islands. Supposedly, there are some macadamia nut trees, avocado trees, coffee plants, cinnamon trees, and breadfruit trees.

We looked for some avocados and coffee plants but couldn't find any. But who knows, maybe they're in there.
