Cartwright Park is located next to Keeaumoku Street and near the H1 freeway. It's not exactly the quietest or the safest park on Oahu. The park is known to have druggies and a few undesirables hanging out, so use caution when visiting. The facilities include a ball field, which is a bit run down and in need of some serious maintenance.
The basketball courts are adequate and popular during the afternoon and early evening. There is a playground with equipment, and I do see parents bringing their children here to play.
The restrooms are pretty gross. There are no doors on the toilet stalls, so you may need backup to watch the door for privacy. Better yet, avoid this toxic area and hold it until you get home. If you go, I'd recommend visiting during daylight hours or with a group at night for an event.
If you're part of a sports league or want to engage in a group activity such as a basketball, soccer or softball, then this park is decent enough for that.
