The Japanese Garden East / West is a fun little Japanese style garden area at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It's very well landscaped and maintained and has some small man-made waterfalls and pond areas with koi fish in them. It's very quiet and peaceful. Right behind the garden as a nature-made river as well that you'd probably never even know was there.
