Whittington Beach Park does not have any sandy beach area. The shoreline is classic dark black rocks against the blue ocean and greens plants. It's a great place to stop and take the essential Hawaii vacation photo.
Water activities are not possible here. It is an interesting place to stop and have a look around at the ocean, reef, and tidepools. You can also fish or have a picnic. There are bathrooms here so it's all a good place for a pit stop. Camping is allowed with a permit.
The beach was named for Richard H. Whittington in 1948. He was an early settler, who built a house nearby. See, back then that's all it took to get a beach named after you!
