Reeds Bay Beach Park is located in Hilo on Hawaii's Big Island, right next to the Hilo International Airport (ITO) and the Hilo Seaside Hotel. Guests staying at hotels on Banyan Drive will have easy access to this area.
Although there is a sandy beach here, the sand is more gravel-like than sand. It's not the best option for a sandy beach where you will lay out for a tan or swim in the water. Since it is often calm, the water can be a good place for kids to splash around.
The head of Reeds Bay is known as Ice Pond. If you're especially hot then this little area will cool you off.
Reeds Bay Beach is also a great place for a BBQ, gathering, or picnic. Many who come here usually use this area to kayak, boat, or stand up paddle boarding (SUP).
