Secret Island Beach is not so secret anymore. This fun packed tour is available through Kualoa Ranch. Whether you're an early bird, or a late riser, there are two times you can book. The adventure can begin at 9 am to 12 pm, or for the last minute diaper changing mother at 12 pm to 3 pm.
The features of this secret island day includes: stand up paddling, kayaking, snorkeling, volleyball, badminton, ping pong, hammocks under shaded coconut trees, wooden swings, chairs and grills, showers and changing rooms, vests, and (only with Full Day Kualoa Experience Pass) provided sand toys for the little ones. There's also an exclusive view of Chinaman's Hat and the Marine Corps Base.
All of this activity only comes to $27 for adults and $16 for children ages 3-12. The littles ones under 3 are free. With a valid ID, military and locals can receive a reduced rate. Reservations for either morning tour or afternoon tour have to be made 24 hours in advance. Kualoa Ranch is open 7 days a week from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, except Christmas and New Years. Book online, by phone, or in person.
This "island" is actually a very secluded beach for all ages. From the diverse ranch, you ride down to the secret island dock which was featured as submarine dock on LOST. In route to the dock you'll see some local fruits and flowers neatly displayed behind white wooden signs. When you reach the dock, stretched out below is an 800 year old ancient Hawaiian fishpond. Boarding a pontoon (motor boat), you will cross this historic body of water to get to your destination. For a detailed tour of the Ancient Hawaiian Fishpond and Tropical Garden, simply book your reservation at Kualoa Ranch for the same price as Secret Island Beach Tour.
The Secret Island Beach Tour does not include any meals, so packing your snacks and drinks would go right along with your sunscreen and towels.
If packing along your own food is not ideal for you, consider getting a package deal from Kualoa. Their Full Day Kualoa Experience Pass includes an all you can eat lunch buffet. Adults are $99 and kids 3-12 are $59.
Directions: Take the H-3 to the Likelike turnoff-then take Kahekili Highway all the way through Kaneohe. If you see big white boards with red and black letters protesting on city development, you're on the right road. Just past the Macadamia Nut Farm Outlet, look for a brown square sign with the address 49-345. Turn right into that driveway to follow the road down to a parking area. If you see little white signs with the names of fruits, you're in the area. Or if you're going to Kualoa Ranch for the tour, continue past the brown sign and you will come to the Ranch entrance on the left.
