Thai Lao Restaurant - Restaurants On Oahu Kapolei, Hawaii

Thai Lao is hidden away in a small strip mall on the Farrington Highway in Kapolei across the street from the Safeway store. Our map pinpoints its exact location for you.

The restaurant is pretty small inside and we were surprised to see a small lunch crowd forming shortly after 11:30 am or so but took that as a good sign of things to come.

We started out with the spring rolls which were perfect in every way and then somehow got better when dipped in the sauce that comes with them. We highly recommend you try them!

For our main dishes we tried the Thai garlic with chicken and the sauteed chicken with ginger. Both looked similar but the Thai garlic had better flavor overall (it was quite tasty). Everything was cooked well but our only complaint, as is common with a place like this, is the overused of dark chicken rather than white chicken. At the same time, the chicken itself was okay but there were some less than desirable chicken bits in both dishes.

Overall we found the food to be a bit better than average. The service was below average because our waitress (who was nice and friendly) didn't ever come back to check if the food was okay and never came back to refill our drinks.
