Pretty cool to see but I think we were more excited about the sea turtles feeding along the lava rocks. It is a little difficult to find and there are no real good signs. Thank goodness for one of our tourist books we used. You have to hike over a golf course to get there and should be careful hiking over the lava rocks, they are sharp. Bring water, it is completely out in the open. A bit touristy and if limited time, may want to do something else in the area.

These were cool. I took the trail between the Ritz and the golf course. It was a 5 minute walk down to the lava formations. The ancient burial grounds were blocked off. You're only allowed on the grounds for ceremonies... and I'm pretty sure that's not open to the public. Anyway, the lava formations were cool. I kinda thought they were going to be bigger, but it's pretty amazing that the wind blew the lava up like that. Worth the few minutes to get there!
