Located about 8 miles south of the Kona airport is where you will find the Kona Brewing Company and the attached restaurant. First off, your GPS is likely to bring you to the general area just fine but will more than likely lead you into a parking lot where you cannot park for the restaurant.
Instead, from the airport follow the Queen Kaahumanu Highway (HI-19) and turn makai (right, towards the ocean) onto Palani Road and then make another right on Kuakini Road just as directed by your GPS. Do NOT make another right into the first parking lot entrance as your GPS says, that's where you'll go wrong.
Continue along Kuakini Road until your come to the first real street intersection which will be Kona Bay Drive and take a right. Turn right at the next street, about a block away, which will be Pawai Place. Drive all the way to the end and this road will dead end right into the real parking lot. Sounds more confusing than it is but it's the only way to get there.
Once there you'll enjoy some tasty pizzas, sandwiches, and even tacos (pork, fish, shrimp). We sampled quite a few items here and it was all delicious with an especially tasty Porterhouse Dip sandwich. Of course, it is a brewery as well so there are plenty of tasty handcrafted beers to sample as well.
Service was friendly, though fairly slow but we would highly recommend the Kona Brewing Company.
