Dennys - Restaurants On Oahu Kaneohe, Hawaii

Denny's is a massive chain of diner style restaurants all over the USA and a good place to get a meal just about any time of day or night. This Kaneohe location is fairly clean but can get very busy around breakfast and lunch time on weekends.

The menu is quite large so they'll have something for everyone in your group for sure. The burgers, sandwiches, and most breakfast items are staff favorites with the nachos being my personal favorite.

Our visit here was on a weekend and while there wasn't a line and several open tables they told us that while we could get seated right away the wait for food would be 30 minutes. Thirty minutes for diner food, you must be joking. Servers were running around like crazy so maybe it was a staff shortage issue.

Our service wasn't very good here and we waited 10 minutes from the time we sat down until our waiter arrived to take our drink order (so we ordered food at the same time). Drinks then took forever to come out. Even our appetizer took a while and I overheard our waiter in the back saying "I need mozzarella sticks now, I forgot to put in the order". Great.

In some cases Denny's is a great place to dine if you're on a budget with kid's meals costing less than $6 each with drink, meal, and side item. A full plate of nachos ran me just under $9 and it was a fair value for the amount of food but this location is a little stingy on the toppings (cheese and meat) which was disappointing.

At the same time, it was close to $40 before tip for two adults (less one soda) and two kids with an appetizer. So while Denny's can be budget friendly it can also add up fairly fast. If the service was better and the food was prepared better (more toppings, not being out of ingredients, etc) then the price wouldn't be so bad.

All things considered, I probably wouldn't eat at this particular location again just because of the time wait, stingy toppings on my nachos, and the fact that they ran out of the cream cheese frosting on the cinnamon pancakes we ordered. Things could certainly be better here and you can certainly find a better food option in this area.
