El Charro Mexicano Restaurant - Restaurants On Oahu Aiea, Hawaii

Finding good and authentic Mexican food on Oahu isn't always easy but El Charro is one of the rare few that really stand out. We're not alone in thinking this as this place can get a little busy at times so we prefer going for early lunches here.

Finding El Charro can be a challenge as it is located in the Aiea Shopping Center which is just southeast of Pearlridge Center. Once in the Aiea Shopping Center you will need to head to the 3rd floor and once up there you'll be able to find it. The other option is to park on what is essentially the third floor by turning into the third entrance (which is the east most turn in of the three) and you will then be parking right in front of the restaurant.

Inside it's clean but sort of what you'd expect from a good hole-in-the-wall Mexican food joint. Don't get thrown off, that's just a sign that this is the real deal.

The service here is fine and friendly. The salsa is just okay but the food is excellent. The ground beef tacos are quite good while the shredded beef was a little on the bland side. They have all of the usual Mexican items (tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc). Their rice and beans were delicious as well.

It's all priced very well at around $12 for a plate of food that will fill you up. We're really glad we found this place (because we eat here all the time now!) and if you're looking for Mexican food on Oahu then this is worth your time.
