Jane's Fountain brings you back to a different time. It's like going into a time machine back to the late 40's when the menu was simpler and the food was cheaper. Jane's Fountain is a "hole-in-the-wall diner" that first opened back in the 1940s. The neighborhood of Liliha feels more "local" with the vintage original "Jane's Fountain" sign perched above the sidewalk. A small town restaurant at it's finest where the environment is friendly and mellow. No pretentiousness here. Jane's Fountain has a simple menu with cheap food. There's a vintage jukebox to groove on while you sit at the counter or one of the several booths. The restaurant feels authentically vintage, as opposed to other diners that simulate a throwback to yesteryear.
I ordered a bowl of Saimin, which is a staple dish for Jane's. It was cheap, simple, and tasted good. I was in and out in about 15 minutes with a bill under 6 bucks. Can't beat it. If you're looking for upscale, this isn't your place.
Jane's is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other food offered includes breakfast eggs & bacon, pancakes, soups, salads, fried rice plates and many styles of sandwiches & burgers. No credit cards accepted, so bring some cash.
