Da Poke Shack is very good. Arguably one of the best places to eat poke on the Big Island. I've been twice, and the fish has always been fresh and delicious. However, there is a lot of hype regarding Da Poke Shack serving the absolute best. There is no shortage of fresh poke restaurants on the Big Island. One such alternative is Umeke's in Kailua-Kona, which makes outstanding poke. I mention this because Da Poke Shack is not cheap. A 4 item plate will set you back $25 bucks. A cheaper alternative (though less sexy) is to buy poke from KTA Super Stores, which is known by locals for preparing and selling excellent fish and poke.

I love poke. Visited Da Poke Shake as recommended by friends and reviews. Prices were reasonable (market) and portions large. Was it the best poke? Not really, yet it is very good. Seating is limited and ambiance isn't so great-asphalt parking lot next to busy road.

Our first stop on the Big Island was Da Poke shack. We each had a plate with rice, and mine had kimchee. The poke was good but I wouldn't say it was extraordinary. Portions were good, and I think it was 30.00 for 2 plates with beverages. I would go back.

The Poke Shack has the best poke I have ever had. The restaurant is small and the parking lot is even smaller, so park on the side of the road and walk over. If you like poke it is worth it.
