Two Scoops Ice Cream - Restaurants On Oahu Kapolei, Hawaii

Two Scoops is a tiny little ice cream shop in the Ko'Olina resort in the main retail / shopping area which is located across the street from Aulani A Disney Resort And Spa.

The ice cream here is certainly good and tasty but not overly special in our collective opinion. Your kids will love it because, well, it's ice cream and kids love ice cream. Period. The flavor choices are somewhat limited though they have splits and shakes you can make as well. They seem to make an attempt at offering food as well like the occasional odd hot dog or cheesesteak yet we think they must microwave these items as there is no kitchen here so we're not sure how that works so we're just sticking to the ice cream.

We all know that everything in Hawaii can be a little pricey and tossing in a resort area like Ko'Olina usually only adds to the prices but Two Scoops seems unusually expensive for what they serve. To be fair, retail rents in Ko'Olina are insanely expensive and that's likely why you will pay so much for ice cream. Some of the add-ons were pretty insane as well, like a few sprinkles for $0.50? Come on now, just toss those in for free and factor it into the scoop of ice cream I'm already buying at such a high price. Add a shot glass of fudge to your ice cream for a couple of dollars more? For a real world example, 4 single scoops of ice cream (1 in a bowl, 3 in cones, and 1 that requires sprinkles) will run you just under $20.00. That seems a bit high to us but we also understand that running a business in Ko'Olina isn't cheap.

If you really want a scoop of ice cream then try them out because it is good and the people are very nice and friendly (and that counts for a lot to us). If you are concerned about the budget then we suggest just walking a few feet further to the ABC store and get a tub of something or one of the various ice cream bars they offer. We really hope this place comes up with a better plan for the future, one that involves more ice cream selection at reduced prices (or maybe just free sprinkles and other add-ons) and maybe more offerings overall.
