The Prince Waikiki, formerly known as the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki, offers up 541 rooms including 57 luxury suites and is located on the far western end of the Waikiki area and isn't on the beach at all. Located on Ala Wai Boat Harbor, it is oceanfront but there is no beach by this hotel.
You can walk about a half mile to the west for Ala Moana Beach & State Recreation Area or Magic Island (Aina Moana) (which is also where Ala Moana Center is located) or you can walk to the east for a little over a quarter mile and hit Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon and Kahanamoku Beach @ Waikiki by Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. It's not a bad location, but important to note that you won't be walking out of the hotel and into sand like some Waikiki area hotels.
The hotel does offer a pool and hot tub, which many hotels around here do not offer. Note that the Prince Waikiki does now charge a daily resort fee which now includes free parking and free Internet access.
Dining options here include contemporary island cuisine at Prince Court, Japanese food at Hakone, cocktails at the Reef Lounge, and grab and go options at Marina Front Cafe.
