Full Description
Ala Moana Center is the world's largest outdoor shopping center and it's located in Honolulu on the island of O'ahu in Hawaii. They boast around 300 stores with around 70 dining options. It's truly a one stop shop for pretty much any type of shopping you want to do.

Getting here is very easy and if you're in Waikiki (see Waikiki Guide) you can take a bus here, drive here, or hop on the free trolley to get here. If you don't mind walking, you can even walk here from Waikiki. It's also literally just across the street from Ala Moana Beach & State Recreation Area and Magic Island (Aina Moana) so you can walk to/from those places as well.

Sure, it's a mall and like any mall it will have tons of filler. You know, all of those chain stores that any mall has (I'm looking your way Sunglass Hut). But there are plenty of hidden shopping gems that are unique to this shopping center.

I'm not a big fan of mall food courts but Ala Moana has a pretty insane food court with tons of options and many that aren't the usual fast food you'll find everywhere else. In fact, one of my favorite Mexican style fast food places is here which is Senior Pepe's and The Fat Greek makes a really good gyro as well. There are also several sit down dining options to choose from.

This monster of a mall has four floors and it's all open to the outdoors even though you're sort of enclosed within the mall itself. So this is by far the best mall I've ever been to but at the end of the day it's still a mall and filled with mall related annoyances. For example, people. I'm kidding, but this place can get pretty packed at times even though it's so large it never feels too bad.

It does have "booth" vendors in the walkways / hallways and many of them are beyond annoying as they try to give you perfume samples, convince you to check out their wares, and so on. The big tactic they use is to compliment you or ask where you are from. For them, it's all about getting you to pause for 5 seconds and then they'll pounce on you.

I'm sure they are decent people at the end of the day and I understand that they need a job like anyone else but tricking people this way makes them bottom feeders and your best bet is to just ignore them and keep on walking. Seriously, ignore them like they don't exist! Don't respond, don't reply, just keep walking.

I see too many tourists getting sucked into their traps time and time again because tourists don't want to be rude (and these sales people know that). I truly wish Ala Moana Center would ban this practice which would really class this place up a lot. In fact, allowing this practice means this mall simply cannot get a perfect 5 star rating from me.

I'm not into malls in general but I like this one. It's huge and there is plenty to see, buy, and eat here. I like just walking around here or people watching.

The food court is fantastic! There are about 50 different food options. I love it! There are so many shops to choose from. Sometimes it is too overwhelming. Each year we visit Oahu and it is always on the list if places to visit. Staying in Waikiki? Just take the pink trolley.

Ala Moana is such a wonderful place to shop, eat, and sometimes even see a show on the stage. I can spend an entire day here and not even see all of the stores. I think there are almost 300 stores and eateries in Ala Moana. Parking may be a little tough and you may be driving around in circles looking for one, but it'll be all worth it once you do find a parking spot.

Huge mall, so plan the good part of a day to explore it. I felt a lot of the stores were higher end, and honestly not things that I would buy. I don't really go to Hawaii for the shopping, however, this mall IS the biggest outdoor mall, so it's something to tell your friends and family back home. Save your money, take lots of pictures and just have some lunch.

Ala Moana shopping centre is a great shopping centre has every brand you would need. Love shopping here and love how it's outdoors. Brand new food court with plenty of different foods to choose from. Very friendly staff. just don't like the Dead Sea people that are located in most of the middle parts of the mall they harass you every time you walk by. I have had rude comments said to me just because I wasn't interested in there product. Otherwise, I love the centre and they also have hula shows that are great to watch. Go down check it out and spend up big.

As shopping malls go, this one is pretty impressive. It's a great place to wander, browse and of course, shop! Full of temptations, it's not a place to visit if you don't want to part with some cash. It has a unique Hawaiian vibe and is all the better four being partly outside. The food hall is probably one of the best I have ever been to - deciding what to opt for is a dizzying prospect.

Nice mall, big mall! Nice shops, high end or low end. Has every kind of food you could ever imagine. Fun to go to and just walk around. If you need a pharmacy, there is one in the Mall. Just in case.

I love Ala Moana Center! It is definitely the best mall on this island. The mall is huge and has every store you need! Whether you're looking for a new outfit or a cool Hawaiian souvenir to take home, Ala Moana has it. It really is a one stop shop for everything on your shopping list.

Also, this mall has many places to eat from, whether you want fast food or a fancy restaurant meal, Ala Moana has tons of great options for you to choose from. What I really like is the food court, which offers so many different types of food- hawaiian, chinese, mexican, etc. But of course, because of the huge crowd of Ala Moana lovers, the food court is always packed, so if you're planning to go during the weekend expect a difficult time finding an empty table.

This is the number one area tourists go to, and with good reason. It is the best place to shop, at least in terms of brand name clothing and objects (granted you have the cash for them)and one has of the few bookstores Hawaii has (Barnes and Nobles). There are a lot of stores so you will NEVER run out of places to shop.

The food court has a large variety for everyone, from pizza to bubble tea to Asian cuisine. Best place to kill time if you are new to Hawaii.

This is a shoppers paradise for sure. It's huge and has like 300 stores or something crazy. You could easily spend half a day or even a whole day just here.
