Ko Olina Lagoon #4, or the Ulua Lagoon as it's also called, is located at the Ko Olina Resort in the city of Kapolei on the southwest side of O'ahu. It's located at the end of the resort, after all of the hotels along the main street (Aliinui Drive) right next to the Ko Olina Marina. It's similar to the other 3 lagoons at Ko Olina and offers all of the same great amenities but Lagoon 4 is the only beach here that offers plenty of parking with 100 spots available.

Though we have seen the lot fill up on weekends it usually has plenty of parking and even when it is full and there is a short line of cars it moves surprisingly fast due to the high turnover in the large lot. During weekdays, this beach is the least used as the other three lagoons are always used by the hotel guests while Lagoon 4 doesn't have any hotel built on it.

It's also the only beach of the 4 lagoons that offers a massive grass area which is good if the kids want to run around and play outside of the water and sand for a bit.

All of the Ko Olina Lagoons are man made and nicely protected from the ocean by breakwaters so this makes them a great place for the kids as the surf will usually be low to nonexistent, though there are no lifeguards here. That also makes the snorkeling here pretty good on most days and you'll find all sorts of fish to view. The fish are a reminder that the lagoon is still open to the ocean so this has all of the potential dangers of any other beach in Hawaii as well.

There can be a stronger current near the breakwaters, especially the center opening where the water exits the lagoon for the ocean which is roped off so you know to stay away from it.

There is a lot of sand to play on here and a lot of grass (some with shade from trees) as well along with public showers, drinking fountains, and toilets. You can walk a short distance down the beach walk to Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club for food or drinks or hit the Ko Olina Marina store for a (very limited) selection of snacks and drinks. All four of the Ko Olina Lagoons are connected by a very nice concrete beach walk so walking to each is easy.

Like all of the Ko Olina Lagoons, this is one of the best beaches in Hawaii and one we highly recommend you try and the one you'll likely to have the best luck with parking a vehicle.
