Features
• Religion: Church / Temple

Palapala Hoomau Church was built by missionaries from Lahaina and is a place of worship and celebration for residents and visitors. The Palapala Ho'omau Preservation Society is a group of people who work to restore and preserve the main church building and the grounds.

You're free to come and look around, see the popular Charles Lindbergh's Grave, or just to enjoy the peace and serenity of the area. Donations are accepted and they help with the maintenance of the grounds and graves.

If you do visit and the church is open you are allowed to enter the church but asked not to disturb any furniture or objects inside. Some of the graves outside are barely marked so be careful to not to step on any of them. You're also asked to be extra careful near the cliff that overlooks the ocean and not to approach the edge.

If you're looking for the churche, you'll find it on the famous Road To Hana. Specifically, it's located about eight miles south of Hana just past Mile Marker 41. Assuming you've taken the northern route to Hana, keep going and make a left turn at the sign for Maui Stables (and the church). If you're coming from the southern route and heading towards Hana, you'll be turning right when you see the signs and after you pass Laulima Farm Restaurant.

Once you turn you'll be on a tiny unpaved road which you'll follow for just a bit until you see an option to turn left. Follow that to the end and you'll find a small parking area at the end of the road. We've marked the exact location on our map but if you don't have cell reception, and you won't, it may not help you so be sure to look at the map before you head out and lose cellular reception.
