Pint + Jigger is an old style bar my dad might have enjoyed, and I say that with the highest regard. They have a large selection of amazing cocktails that are prepared by top notch mixologist. Barman Quinn took care of us on our visit and showed us why the Pint + Jigger is so popular with the locals.

First, the mood of the bar is laid back and not pretentious. It's not as jovial as Cheers, but it's not as brooding as a dive bar. It lies somewhere in-between. The customers were friendly and to enjoy hanging out with friends while enjoying a cocktail or beer. We first heard about Pint + Jigger while doing research for best craft beer pubs in Hawaii. Their selection of beers & ales is very impressive. The list of beers is long and you'll be hard pressed to find another establishment in Hawaii with such a selection. Beer aficionados - here is your place.

What we didn't expect to find was the deliciously prepared food. The food here is not "bar" food per say, but very nicely prepared, good quality appetizers and dishes. Most people appeared to be enjoying burgers, but Quinn guided us toward some of their unique dishes.

For starters, we had the Apple Wood Smoked Double Cut Bacon. The bacon was thick and flavorful and it was covered with a corn salsa that complemented it nicely. Very good, but it kept getting better. We then tried the Whiskey Flambe Mushrooms which was Heavenly and difficult to share with the others. So ono. Then the Eggplant Parmesan Sliders - wow. We came for the cocktails and beer and were blown away by the quality of the food.

If you're looking for a non-pretentious bar to hang with friends and enjoy good food, a large selection of handcrafted beers, or sip on a mixed-to-perfection cocktail, then look no further than the Pint + Jigger.

The short take: Pint and Jigger is a perfect local bar. The food is fantastic and creative, the cocktails are unique and well executed, the beer selection is fabulous, and the ambiance is relaxed and inviting.

Pint and Jigger is a place I would love to visit again and again. We started with brrr-jito which is self-described as a beer mojito that tastes better. This did not disappoint! I'm a big fan of a refreshing mojito and the beer twist was a great take on a classic. My favorite drink was tied between the Drawn and Quarted and the Sous Vide Old Fashioned.

The Draw and Quarted was a classy light and refreshing cocktail of bitter goodness made from Angostura bitters, Campari, lime, and house-made apricot syrup. The Sous Vide Old Fashioned was very unique and almost difficult to explain. It was a smoky woody twist on one of my favorites and the sous vide process added a whole other layer of flavor that I've never experienced before. Both cocktails were amazing and highly recommend to bitter or old-fashioned fans.
The whiskey sour was perfectly executed, smooth, and easy to drink.
Overall, all the cocktails were stunning and I plan to try them all!

What was probably most impressive to me was the beer list at Pint + Jigger. It can be pretty difficult to find a bar in Hawaii with such a diverse tap and bottle list, and Pint + Jigger can rival lists of many west coast bars. As a huge Pacific Northwest/ San Diego beer fan, I was impressed to find that they rotate Rogue, Deschutes, Evil Twin, Ballast Point, Green Flash, Coronado, and other goodies. There was a great selection of lighter European beers on tap as well and the bottle list was nice. We tried the Pipwrench by Gigantic and that was a different IPA, it's aged in Old Tom Gin barrels so it was hoppy with a juniper twist.

As for the food, I was obsessed with the applewood smoked double cut bacon with corn salsa. It was salty, smoky, fresh, spicy and everything else that a bacon appetizer should be. This is a must!!

The whiskey flambeed mushroom crostini were so flavorful I wish there were more than just a couple toasts to share. We also had the eggplant Parmesan sliders which were tasty with the 6-hour spicy marinara. I would love to try more of the menu as it had some interesting options and everything we tried was perfect.

The ambiance is pretty relaxed and bordering on sports bar as there were a few TVs playing the game but overall it had more of a comfortable social vibe.

I highly recommend Pint + Jigger to anyone who likes great beer, creative cocktails, and fantastic food.
