Was there a few months ago & it was a bust! Nothing like the pic's claim it to be. The streets were very dirty, the many, many, markets produce looked as if the produce was left over from the stores did not sell shelf. Smelled bad as well. I thought I was back in Baltimore city again.

Although this isn't one of the most impressive of the Chinatowns I have visited, it is quite interesting to have a wander round. There is a temple, lots of restaurants and shops, but it isn't really worth coming out of your way to see. I would add that if you wish to experience a different aspect of Oahu, this area is a world away from Waikiki. Many tourists prefer to stay within the confines of the glitzy hotels, but this area is a more authentic glimpse of Honolulu.

The place is really giving off a historical vibe. The architecture is old, perhaps sometime from late 1800s, and combining that with modern technology, some Asian architecture and the vast stores filled with Asian products.

However, this is NOT one of those areas for tourists; some stores are filthy, a lot of homeless people litter their property at the streets, and it is hard to communicate with the Asian clerks as some of them have difficulty speaking English. However, it is a good place to go to if you enjoy Asian products and the occasional odd store.

Interesting place to visit in the day time. Very colorful and diverse. But we were warned not to travel there at night.

Not really a touristy place here so not much to do other than look at a few stores selling a lot of old junk. There are some interesting things and some interesting food items (wow!!!) but otherwise not really much to see or do here.
