Captain Cook, Hawaii

The city of Captain Cook is located on the west side of the Big Island, in the District of south Kona.

Due to it's elevation Captain Cook is an ideal area for growing coffee with plenty of coffee farm tours and stores available to check out.

The city is named after Captain James Cook, who was killed by King Kalaniopuu's attendants after Cook tried to kidnap the king. For more on that see The History of Captain James Cook.
