Wahiawa, Hawaii

The name Wahiawa means "place of noise" in Hawaiian. It's as if the ancients Hawaiians knew this small town would be filled with traffic someday! Wahiawa is located in central Oahu, right next to (east of) Schofield Army Barracks and Wheeler Army Field. For many, it's just a stop on the way to or from the north shore. But it might be worth a stop at a few places in this area.

For example, Wahiawa Botanical Garden is a neat little hidden gem for plant lovers. Kukaniloko Birthstones State Historic Site is a very peaceful and sacred site that's interesting to see. And, of course, the big one over here is the Dole Plantation.

Want a coffee, tea, or treat? Then stop by Green World Coffee Farm. If you need more food you'll find a few options here, but Maui Mike's Fire-Roasted Chicken is hard to beat for good good and cheap prices.
