En Fuego Grill - Restaurants On Oahu Kapolei, Hawaii

This local style restaurant serves up Hawaiian style "local" food and plate lunches (and offer catering services as well). They also make a very bold claim about having the best garlic french fries.

Naturally, we had to try those garlic fries for ourselves and we have to agree that they are unbelievable good but come in second to the garlic fries at Monkeypod Kitchen.

We then tried the Kalua Pig plate which came with a side of rice and a side of macaroni salad or a tossed salad. I actually asked for the tossed salad (which the receipt confirms) and ended up with macaroni salad so a minor issue there but not worth wasting food to get it fixed. The Kalua pig wasn't the best I've ever had but still very good and I'd certainly order it again. The tiny side of haupia was a nice touch too. All of that and a tiny side of lomi lomi salmon and poke for $10.50? That's a bargain.

We also ordered a mini plate of garlic chicken which came with rice and macaroni salad for $7.25. Very tasty and a true bargain. We did find that the macaroni salad is very heavy on the mayonnaise so that wasn't a favorite.

We also liked that a large soda is under $2.00 as we get very annoyed at restaurants that think $3 or $4 sodas are in any way acceptable.

The staff were super nice and friendly as well so kudos to them for that! This is a solid place, a great value, and we'll certainly be back.
