Ko Olina Hawaiian Bar-B-Que - Restaurants On Oahu Kapolei, Hawaii

Ko'Olina Hawaiian Bar-B-Que was one of the first food options in the Ko'Olina Station and Center retail areas in Ko'Olina. It's located directly across the street from Aulani A Disney Resort And Spa and right behind Just Tacos.

They serve up all sorts of local style BBQ dishes as well burgers, hot dogs, and even breakfast items which are served from 10:30 am to noon.

The food here tastes very good and we've sampled a few dishes and always enjoyed the overall taste. The overall problem I have is the same one I have at most of the restaurants like this which is the use of cheap meats. That means a lot of dark meat chicken, beef that might be a bit chewy at times, and all of the funky bits that I prefer to never find in my food.

I'll admit, I'm picky when it comes to quality and this issue is very common among all of the Asian and Local style restaurants in this class and price range. Still, when I am eating food I don't want a piece of extra chewy or fatty chicken, steak, etc that I have to deal with in my mouth. Sure, I can cut around those bits but I would just prefer to have a higher quality of meat overall.

To be fair, the prices reflect the lesser quality of meat and this is probably the single cheapest place you can eat in all of Ko'Olina. Because of that and that the food does taste good we do suggest you give it a try, just don't expect to be blown away.

They make an oddly delicious and hand-made (not pre-formed patty) cheeseburger and teriyaki burger too. This is a great option if you want to grab some quick take out before heading back to your hotel too.
