I see reviews of Barbers Point Beach Park all over the Internet and they almost always have it confused with another beach (like Nimitz Beach or White Plains Beach). So first we'll clear up where this beach is.

It's located at the very southern tip of Kapolei in an industrial area. You likely won't be in this area unless you are going to Germaine's Luau next door but we've marked the location on the map to make it pretty easy to find. You'll know you are in the right area when you look around and think "there can't possibly be a beach around here".

The beach park itself is decent and has showers and bathrooms as well as a big grassy (and/or red dirt) area with picnic tables. On one side you'll see some sort of industrial area that may or may not be sending up huge plumes of smoke or steam of some sort during your visit (it's a metal recycling facility) and on the other side is Germaine's Luau (which won't be open during the day). If the wind is blowing the wrong way and the industrial place is running this may be an unpleasant place to be so keep that in mind.

The beach itself has sand but is very rocky and reefy along the entire length so there really isn't any ocean access here and thus it's not a great place to swim or play in the water. There are a lot of very shallow tidepool areas of water so you can watch some small fish.

Up on the cement water break you will probably see a ton of small crabs (quarter sized to bigger than your fist) running around. You may not even notice them until you get close and suddenly the ground just moves! Don't worry, they'll run away from you.

At the west end of the beach there is a lighthouse you can go and check out as well, just walk down the beach towards Germaine's Luau and you'll see it. Grab a picture of the family in front of it and then go home because there isn't much going on here. It really isn't a good location or a good beach but watching the perfectly blue ocean waves roll in here is oddly peaceful and you'll probably have the entire place to yourself.
