Another large chain restaurant serving Italian food. We especially love their various pizzas, pasta dishes, and chicken entrees. It's all quite delicious! Service is usually average here, rarely good.

Romano's Macaroni Grill, located at Ala Moana Center, serves up Italian style food. The place is pretty casual, but on the upscale side of casual.
I've eaten here several times and always really enjoy the food. Sure, it's not necessarily the most authentic Italian food you can find but it's still tasty. For example, their lasagna is excellent and you get a huge portion of it. Even their pizzas are incredibly good and made with really delicious cheese.
The free, fresh baked bread and oil is a good way to start and I also recommend their fried mozzarella and their minestrone soup (again, not highly authentic minestrone).
This is a very kid friendly place as they cover the tables with a giant sheet of paper that is both tablecloth and art canvas (they provide crayons) so kids will love that.
The only issues I have here are the prices and the service. The service has never been bad, but it's rarely better than average. The servers are nice enough but never around when I need something. It's consistently average service.
As for those prices, I get that this is pricey real estate with high rents but two adults and two kids (with one appetizer, one soup, two entrees, two kids meals, and 4 sodas/teas) cost almost $75 before the tip. Ouch.
