Coming Soon: Atlantis Resort At Ko Olina, Hawaii. This page will be updated often as new information becomes available. Right now, the resort is in the early design and planning process.

Update January 2019: No noticeable construction has started on the new Atlantis Resort At Ko Olina but things are expect to start this year.

Update September 2018: The Atlantis Ko Olina will be a 4 year construction project (once construction finally begins) and we're told that "it is twice the size and scope" of Aulani A Disney Resort And Spa.

Update July 2018: We have been informed that the Atlantis groundbreaking is expected to begin sometime in 2019.

Construction has not yet begun so no opening date has been announced yet but this is now a confirmed deal and is happening. This first-ever Hawaii Atlantis Resort will be owned by China Oceanwide Holdings who purchased the 26 oceanfront acres in Ko Olina for $280 million.

It looks like China Oceanwide will be doing business under the name of Kerzner International Management Services Hawaii Inc. Construction is said to begin in 2019 with a 2022 opening date. Stay tuned for updates on those dates.

The new resort will be located on the 15 acre parcel of land right next to Aulani A Disney Resort And Spa, on the Diamond Head (east) side. See our map for exact location. Guest of the Atlantis Hotel will have easy access to both Ko Olina Lagoon 1 (Kahola Lagoon) and Ko Olina Lagoon 2 (Honu Lagoon). Although Atlantis Resorts are generally known to include casinos on their properties, casino gambling is illegal in Hawaii and it doesn't look like that law will be changing anytime soon. So, sorry, but don't expect a casino. Not to worry, there are plenty of other ways to empty your bank account during your Hawaiian vacation!

The Atlantis Resort At Ko Olina will include 800 hotel rooms and over 500 luxury residences under the Atlantis brand. Guests will enjoy an aquarium, several restaurants and bars, a full service spa, exercise and gym area, along with a complete waterpark. For those looking to tie the knot, a wedding chapel will be available as well.

The project is also rumored to cost over $2 billion, making it the most expensive hotel project in the world.

Those who are looking for employment will be happy to know that the Atlantis resort will employ around 1,800 people and hopefully give those on Oahu's west side a shorter commute since this resort will only make H1 freeway traffic worse, if that's even possible. So far there is no word on widening of the freeway or building noise reduction walls along the Ko Olina section of the Farrington as added traffic will bring more traffic noise into the already noisy Ko Olina resort.
