Waialea Bay is a pretty small beach but has beautiful blue waters so one we highly recommend checking out. It's easy to find in Kamuela on Hawaii's Big Island and is located just a bit north of the Waikoloa Resort area.

It's known as "Beach 69" simply because there used to be a telephone pole here that was Telephone Pole #69 (which has since changed but the name stuck).

There is no lifeguard here but the waves seem to be gentle much of the time which makes for great swimming. The sand is nice and powdery here which makes it fun to play in and build with.

There are also some shady areas here as well. Bathrooms and showers are available as are picnic tables.

It has a good amount of parking but non-Hawaii residents will pay $5.00 to park here. If you have a Hawaii drivers license or state ID then parking is free for you. If you purchased parking at Hapuna Beach State Park you can park here for free on the same day.
