Pokai Bay Beach Park is a great beach along the Waianae coast of O'ahu. This is often a perfect beach for kids due to the protective breakwaters that keep waves to a minimum (or virtually nothing) in most areas of the bay.

The water is usually quite clear and blue, making this a really good beach and place to swim and play. There is also a lifeguard, bathroom, showers, and a long beach area with plenty of room to set up shop and even some shady areas up along the grass and tree line.

There is often plenty of parking during the week when this beach is usually not very crowded (though it will be more crowded during summer months). Of course, it can get busy on weekends when locals pack the place.

Pokai Bay is also a great place for some kayaking or stand up paddleboarding due it's protected waters (assuming you have those items already). There's even a playground for the kids.

The Ku'ilioloa Heiau at Pokai Bay is worth checking out while visiting.

Beside the heiau are rugged reef formations with interesting arches.
