Secret, well hidden beach in Ko Olina.

Features
• Type: Protected From Open Ocean • Type: Shady • Sand Type: Regular • Good For: Snorkeling

Located in the Ko Olina resort area (see Ko Olina Resort) in the town of Kapolei on O'ahu, Lanikuhonua's Secret Beach is between Lanikuhonua (Paradise Cove) Beach on the north and Sacred Beach @ Lanikuhonua in Ko Olina on the south.

There is no path to access this beach like there is for the various lagoons in Ko Olina so the easiest option (especially if you are staying at a nearby resort) is to walk along the beach by Aulani A Disney Resort And Spa and towards the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina and follow the path which will take you to Sacred Beach @ Lanikuhonua in Ko Olina. Keep walking and you'll hit some rocks that you'll have to walk over (it's not for everyone, be careful if you try it). Once over the rocks you've reached your destination.

The other option is to head over to Lanikuhonua (Paradise Cove) Beach which is on the north side of Secret Beach At Lanikuhonua. From there, head south and climb the rocks and follow them (carefully) around the bend and you'll be at this hidden beach. This mini-hike isn't too bad, though you'll need to take some steps up and down in parts and we have a picture showing what it looks like so you can judge for yourself.

The beach itself is very well protected from the open ocean so as long as the ocean is calm the water here should be very calm as well. There are tons of tidepools along the way and lots of small fish and marine life to see all around here so it's a great place to do some beginner snorkeling.

The sandy beach is larger than you would expect but the water area isn't all that big but great for kids to play in (though that assumes they can bolder hop) or try their hand at snorkeling. It's also a fun place to just hang out and relax and, while we're not really spoiling any secret by revealing its location, it isn't likely to get crowded here.
